We fired up Google maps to help us find our York B&B to find one of York’s most charming features: snickelways. Snickelways appear when least expected and can shorten a walk by half. Not only that, their cobbled paths and brick walls draped in a variety of flowering climbers add beauty and fragrance to the business of going from A to B. York has charm, that’s for sure. English tea houses, lush gardens, Roman ruins standing tall amidst work-a-day businesses and a lazy river running right through its centre make York one of the prettiest small cities we’ve seen.
